Horsham Business' Medical Coding to Improve Patient Care

NextGen Healthcare announced that its upgraded medical information services provide more detailed data to improve patient care and better describe diseases and injuries.

By Oct. 1, health care providers are required to revise medical classification lists used to code for diseases, symptoms, abnormal findings and more.

The change, which amounts to the 10th revision of the International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems, is expected to offer more detailed data to improve patient care and better describe diseases and injuries.

Locally, Horsham-based NextGen Healthcare Information Systems recently announced that its latest Ambulatory information suite meets the latest so-called ICD-10 standards.

The transition to ICD-10 has a substantial impact on documentation of clinical care, physician productivity and practice reimbursement, and successful transition requires coordination between providers and their respective vendor, the company said in a press release.
