Hatboro McDonald's to Reopen Monday

Several small businesses to open later this month in borough's downtown.

Following its more than month-long interior closure for an, the in Hatboro will reopen its doors - unveiling a more contemporary look - on Monday.

Kathy Kingston, vice president of the local McDonald's franchise, said the fast food eatery's dining room will again be open beginning on Monday at 5 a.m. Kingston said a new "tandem drive-thru" has been installed to serve customers faster. will During much of the construction, food service was limited to drive-thru only.

McDonald's isn't the only Hatboro business reopening its doors.

  • The owners of are putting the finishing touches on the former Dunkin' Donuts building (adjacent ) on North York Road. Co-owner Bob Quigley said the family-owned pizzeria is tentatively slated to open its doors on Nov. 20. "We're hoping for the parade," Quigley told borough council during Wednesday's budget work session, referring to , which is planned for the same day. The former Quig's structure, which is situated on South York Road, sustained stemming from this summer. In addition to several feet of water, used motor oil from Car-Nu, an adjacent vehicle sales business, further complicated matters for the Quigley family.
  • Speaking of Car-Nu, owner Wayne Moffa closed his Hatboro-based business recently after sustaining flood damage four times in 10 years - including the two "significant" floods of Hurricane Irene and Lee. Moffa said he plans to reopen Car-Nu at 1540 E. Campus Drive in Warminster on Nov. 15.

Known locally for its diverse array of retail shops, the borough is keeping with that tradition in terms of new comings in town.

  • A "shabby chic" furniture store, Primitive Dwelling, opened recently according to Hatboro Main Street Manager Stephen Barth. Primitive Dwelling, a small shop situated alongside King of Fadez and 1-800-We-Unlock on Jacksonville Road, gives antique-looking facelifts to furniture, he said.
  • A Roll Your Own Tobacco shop is expected to open later this month on North York Road.

  • The former building at 212 S. York Road. The borough council last month approved entering into a contract with Century 21 to market the borough-owned property.
  • The shuttered and flood-damaged , which has been up for sale since July.
  • The Big Marty's property, which has been empty for several years.
  • A 7,000-square-foot building, which until January had housed a at 24 S. York Road, is now leasing, according to a sign on the outside of the building.
