Hatboro Doc Elected to PA Medical Society Board

An internist from Hatboro has been elected to serve as the Pennsylvania Medical Society's Speaker of the House of Delegates

The Pennsylvania Medical Society elected an internist from Hatboro to serve on its board during its recent meeting.

Martin D. Trichtinger, MD, of Hatboro will serve as the Pennsylvania Medical Society’s Speaker of the House of Delegates. He’ll serve a one-year term. 

Those elected to the State Society’s Board of Trustees are responsible for reviewing matters that directly impact patient care and affect physicians in the commonwealth.  

At its annual House of Delegates meeting, held last month in Hershey, members of the Pennsylvania Medical Society elected Trichtinger, along with the following physicians to positions on the statewide organization’s board of trustees. Those elected to the board include the following: 

  • Sherry L. Blumenthal, MD – an obstetrician/gynecologist from Willow Grove who will serve a four-year term as the Obstetrics/Gynecology Trustee.
  • John P. Gallagher, MD – an obstetrician/gynecologist from Sharon, who will serve a four-year term as the society’s 8th District Trustee. As the 8th District Trustee, he’ll represent physicians from Crawford, Erie, Forest, McKean, Mercer, and Warren counties.
  • Edward M. Stafford, MD – an otolaryngology from Washington, who will serve a four-year term as the 11th District Trustee. In this position, he’ll represent physicians from Bedford, Cambria, Fayette, Greene, Somerset, and Washington counties.
  • Jaan E. Sidorov, MD – an internal medicine specialist from Harrisburg, who will serve a four-year term as a Primary Care (Internal Medicine) Trustee. 
  • Walter M. Klein, MD – an anatomic/clinical pathology specialist from Bryn Mawr, who will serve a four-year term as the At-large Specialties Trustee.
  • Parth Dalal – medical student from The Commonwealth Medical College in Scranton, who will serve a one-year term as a Medical Student Trustee.
  Re-elected to the Pennsylvania Medical Society board of trustees were: 
  • James W. Redka, MD – a family medicine specialist from Williamsport, who will serve a four-year term as the society’s 7th District Trustee. As the 7th District Trustee, he’ll represent physicians from Cameron, Clinton, Elk, Lycoming, Potter, Tioga, and Union counties.
  • Joseph F. Answine, MD – an anesthesiologist from Elizabethtown, who will serve a four-year term as the society’s Hospital-Based Trustee.
  • Kristen M. Sandel, MD – an emergency medicine specialist from Sinking Spring, who will serve a one-year term as the organization’s Young Physician Section Trustee.
  • John W. Spurlock, MD – a gynecologist from Bethlehem will serve a one-year term as vice speaker of the Pennsylvania Medical Society’s House of Delegates.
