Guacamole, Chipotle, Mexican Staples Coming to Hatboro

Family-owned Buena Vista will be opening soon on York Road in Hatboro.

In a matter of days, guacamole, pulled pork and dishes accented with chipotle sauces originating from Michoacán, Mexico will be served up in Hatboro.

Family-owned Buena Vista will be opening its second location at 119 S. York Road either Sunday or Monday, according to Jessie Martinez, who, along with husband George, will own the authentic Mexican restaurant featuring a variety of homemade specialties.

The borough location, which until last month had housed Kasbah Cafe, will take on a whole new look inside, Martinez said, adding that its aesthetic evolution is "kind of like a surprise that we have."

The couple's other eatery of the same name has been open in Malvern since September 2010.

Besides offering "one of the best" guacamole alongside favorites featuring chipotle sauce, she said the restaurant is also "very well known for" its pulled pork. She expects that to be the same at the Hatboro sit-down restaurant with takeout service.

Given that Michoacán is "known as the avocado capital of the world," it is no surprise that the Martinez's version of guacamole–the popular Mexican accoutrement featuring mashed avocado–is among the family's specialties.

So, why did the Martinez family opt to bring a taste of Michoacán, Mexico to Hatboro? The couple, formerly of Ambler, "fell in love" with Hatboro, according to Mrs. Martinez.

"My husband loves Hatboro," she said. "We used to live in Ambler and we used to come to Hatboro all the time."
