Gas Prices Rise for Second Week in a Row

Find the cheapest gas in Hatboro and Horsham.

For the second consecutive week, gas prises rose in the Bucks and Montgomery County areas, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report.

The average price of self-serve regular rose about 1.3 cents since last week, which is still 7.2 cents lower than last month but 5 cents higher than a year ago.

The price per gallon in Pennsylvania is also up – by about 2.3 cents – since last week. The national average price of a gallon of self-serve regular is $3.300, while the average locally is $3.491.

However, despite the slight rise, AAA continues to predict that prices in 2013 will be, on average, lower than the 2012 average of $3.60. In the first 90 days of 2012, the report states, geopolitical tensions with Iran pressured the national price at the pump almost 65 cents higher. Without a similar market moving story now, it is likely that the year-over-year discount will widen in the coming months.

Locally, the cheapest price for regular is $3.38 at the Wawa (1510 Easton Road) in Horsham.
