In the last month, gas prices have jumped about 30 cents in Bucks and Montgomery, but this last week saw little change, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report.
The surge in gasoline prices has been driven somewhat by rising crude oil prices but more directly because of refinery maintenance issues. This has meant less gasoline being produced and fewer supplies, which has pushed prices higher.
Locally, the average price for a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Bucks and Montgomery is $3.779, up .7 cents since last week, 30.5 cents higher than a month ago and 4.5 cents higher than a year ago.
