You could stand on a corner and look around until a restaurant sign draws you in. But we've got a better idea. Here's Hatboro-Horsham Patch's pick for a great restaurant nearby that is worth checking out:
- Yen Thivarath, besides being an inordinately sweet and cute young Thai woman, is also very brave and determined. In the face of the economic recession two years ago, she built a brand new restaurant from scratch, beautifully converting an old tire garage on the corner opposite Barnes & Noble and the Olive Garden in Willow Grove, into the lovely La Fusion Café. For her, it is her self-described “lifelong dream come true.”
Thivareth came to the U.S. when she was 3 years old. She learned to cook in the kitchens of her family growing up. She went to The Restaurant School to add restaurant management to her cooking skills. She spotted the potential corner restaurant space two years ago and proceeded to acquire and tastefully and completely rebuild it, creating a bright by day, well-lit by night, airy high ceiling dining room, furnished sparely and cleanly with black vinyl-covered chairs and booths, a four-seat sushi bar, and slate tiled floor.

Her menu is a contemporary ‘fusion’ of her family’s native Thai, plus French, and American dishes, and a large selection of sushi bar treats. These days, it seems no new Asian cuisine restaurant can resist including sushi. Indeed, in terms of space covered, the list of sushi and sashimi almost dominates the menu.
