All Eyes on Hatboro

The borough is reviving its downtown and recently became one of a network of events-oriented Web sites.

Hatboro’s alive – and the borough’s got the URL to prove it.

Piggybacking off of various events-oriented sites launched for Bucks County municipalities including Doylestown, announced during Monday’s meeting that Hatboro Alive had launched earlier that day.

“We’re the first town in Montgomery County to be listed,” Barth said, adding that the hope is to “make (Hatboro) more a destination rather than a pass-through town.”

To that end, Barth said 40 new businesses have opened this year, including the , at the former Wendy’s on York Road. The new additions, in total, brought 150 jobs to the borough, Barth said.

The latest business to open, Barth said, is the corporate headquarters for Member Solutions, on Warminster Road, which employs 65 workers.

The soon-to-be-relocated – which is taking over the shuttered Dunkin’ Donuts building following two recent floods - is expected to open within the next two or three weeks, Barth said.
