How to Recycle Corks, Eyeglasses

Did you know wine corks can be recycled?

Patch users across the Philadelphia area have shown increasing interest in how to recycle or safely dispose of any number of household items. So we've put together a series of resources for you and your neighbors, including locations in Hatboro-Horsham Patch and nearby. If we miss any item you want to know how to properly dispose of or recycle, please let us know in the comments.

Most people know about how to recycle regular household items like paper and plastic, but more things are recyclable than people might realize.

See how to recycle the following unusual items:

Corks

Whole Foods Markets accept corks for recycling through the Cork ReHarvest program run by the Cork Forest Conservation Alliance.

ReCork by Amorim also operates a cork collection location at the Valley Forge Radison Hotel in King of Prussia.

Eyeglasses

All Walmart locations have an eyeglasses drop off location for safe recycling.

Lions Clubs also accept eyeglasses for recycling. Click here to see where you can drop off eyeglasses for the Horsham Lions Club. Click here to see where you can drop off eyeglasses for the Hatboro Lions Club.

Additionally, OneSight offers a wide range of opportunities to donate eyeglasses. Find out how to donate through them here.

You can drop off your eyeglasses to recycle at the Horsham Library - there is a collection box for them in the Cafe. Cell phones, too. :)
