Fire companies from Horsham, Hatboro and neighboring communities worked for about an hour Monday night to extinguish a two-alarm fire.

The fire, which according to Horsham Fire Marshal George Fida broke out at about 8:08 p.m. at the Strongarm Designs Inc. manufacturing facility at 423 Sargon Way within the Babylon Business Campus on Horsham Road, was brought under control at 8:52 p.m.

No one has been injured, said Horsham Township Emergency Management Deputy Director Gary Bissig.

The fire began in one of the dust collectors located at the manufacturing facility, which is situated off of Horsham Road, Fida said. One of the processes involves grinding carbon steel, he said, adding that particles go into a dust collector and "somehow ignited."

Three workers were inside when the fire started and tried, unsuccessfully, to extinguish the fire themselves, Fida said.

Fire crews responded to the business for the same purpose two years ago, according to Fida. This time the fire was a bit worse, he said, adding that a second alarm was called at 8:21 p.m. as a "precautionary measure."

The fire was confined to the unit itself, Fida said. Besides the forced entry crews had to make, he said there was no damage to the building.

Besides Horsham Fire Co. and Enterprise Fire Co. fire crews and emergency responders from Warrington, Montgomery Township, Willow Grove, Wissahickon, Fort Washington and Lansdale assisted.
