Hatboro-Horsham School District is finalizing hiring for several open positions.

With only two weeks remaining until the start of school in the Hatboro-Horsham School District, officials are conducting interviews and hoping to fill openings in time for the new school year.

The district has whittled its teaching staff down by nine through attrition, but is still looking to hire for several position, Superintendent Curtis Griffin reported during Monday night's school board meeting.

Officials are conducting final interviews for an assistant principal at Keith Valley Middle School and will begin interviews this week for an elementary school principal, he said.

A school psychologist position is open, Griffin said, adding that the district may have to resort to a contracted service for the upcoming school year.

"We’re back at the drawing board," Griffin said. "We’ll continue to work thorugh that."

A .5 special education position at Simmons Elementary School, as well as a social studies position at Hatboro-Horsham High School are also open, he said.
