Movie Filming Slated for Historic Horsham Home

Filming for a movie called 'Remorse' is expected to begin soon at the Penrose-Strawbridge house in Horsham Township.

Following news that "Restaurant Impossible" is filming an episode at a Horsham eatery, the caretaker of a 19th century home announced that the Horsham residence would soon double as a movie set.

with his wife, Margaret, told Patch that he was awaiting a contract for a film company to begin filming a movie called "Remorse" at the home, which is located adjacent to Graeme Park in Horsham Township. 

Choate, in briefing the Horsham Township Council Wednesday night, said he expected the filming to be a "significant rental fee" for Horsham, bringing "money and jobs to the township."

The Choates, who formed the nonprofit Horsham Preservation and Historical Association in 1998, have served as caretakers of the Penrose-Strawbridge house for close to a decade. In addition to living in the historic home, the Choates fundraise and seek grants to restore the residence.

Mr. Choate told the council that if had $500,000 a museum envisioned for the 200-year-old residence would be "open in a year."

"It's just a matter of money," he said.
