The Village Players of Hatboro have announced the first production of their 65th Season. It’s the light hearted comedy, “The Fox on The Fairway” by Ken Ludwig. The show premieres on Friday, October 5th at 8 p.m. The theater is located at 401 Jefferson Avenue in Hatboro. For information, call the box office at 215-675-6774.


The play revolves around the event is the annual golf tournament between Quail Valley and Crouching Squirrel Country Clubs. The director of Quail Valley, Henry Bingham (played by Jon Zucker), thinks he has a shoo-in, and makes a large bet with his rival, Dickie Bell (played by Mike Powell), only to discover that his star player has defected at the last minute. With his job on the line, he enlists the aid of his new assistant, Justin Hicks (played by Brian Richichi), a talented player who has just become engaged to Quail Valley waitress Louise Heindbedder (played by Gina Lutz). But when Louise loses the ring, it could throw off Justin's game. Bingham tries to hold everything together with help from Quail Valley member Pamela Peabody (played by Deb Lewis), while trying to appease his wife Muriel (played by Carol Leister), whose prized antique shop is part of the bet.

“The Fox on The Fairway” is directed by Jim Balcerek and Erin Ryan who headed “I Hate Hamlet” in 2010.


“The Fox on The Fairway” opens on Friday, October 5th, 2012 with an 8 p.m. curtain. Tickets are only $12. The show runs the next three weekends in October. There are two Sunday matinees on October 7th and October 14th at 2 p.m. Matinee tickets are only $10. The Village Players of Hatboro is a non-profit community theater located in residential Hatboro at 401 Jefferson Avenue near County Line Road between Jacksonville and Warminster Roads.
