School of the Solder at Graeme Park
Graeme Park will host the reenactors from the 69th Pennsylvania Volunteers encamp here, along with several other Civil War reenactment regiments, including the 71st Pennsylvania and the 104th Pennsylvania Voluntary Infantries, for their annual School of the Soldier training weekend.
The encampment will be open to the public beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday morning when the soldiers will begin their training rotations, which will include marching, firing, and drilling demonstrations. Visitors can also take a guided tour of the Keith House, join the ladies in their sewing circle, and walk through the camp to see what the tents and living conditions of the soldiers would have been like.
On Sunday visitors can again visit in camp and see more living history demonstrations. Kids will also have a chance on Sunday to drill with the soldiers using toy guns and learn how to march.
