Hatboro's Union Library Historical Marker Dedication

There will be a formal dedication of a Historical Roadside Marker for The Union Library Company of Hatboro, during the September 10th Library Bazaar at 11:00 a.m.  A number of community leaders have been invited to participate in its dedication. The Historical Marker is one of three to be placed in Hatboro and was funded through a state grant obtained through The Millbrook Society with the sponsorship of State Representative Tom Murt. The public is encouraged to participate in this dedication honoring this Historic Library.

The Union Library Company of Hatboro was founded in 1755 and is the Third Library founded in Pennsylvania and is currently the Second Oldest still operating under its original charter. The Library is on the National Register of Historic Places, and its collection still contains some of its original books shipped from England.
