A Pinelands Magical History Tour

South Jersey's Pinelands is an extraordinarily special place, an oasis of pine forests, ghost towns and cedar swamps smack in the middle of the Atlantic coast megalopolis. Mike Weilbacher shares his favorite places in the Pines—the dwarf forest, the memorial marking where Mexico's Charles Lindbergh crashed, the Martha Furnace ghost town, Buzby's General Store in Chatsworth (the unofficial "capital" of the Pines), and Apple Pie Hill, where a fire tower offers breathtaking views of the sweeping landscape from Philly to Atlantic City. Along the way, Mike reads from John McPhee's classic, The Pine Barrens. Includes lunch at Lucille's Country Cooking in Warren Grove, a Piney tradition, and shopping in the general store, a treasure trove of books, antiques and historic information.
