Weekend Planner: Crafts, Music, Family Fun

There are a number of events to kickstart Halloween fun this weekend, as well as a Hatboro craft gala to get your holiday shopping underway.

This weekend offers an abundance of pre-Halloween activities for every ghoul and boy, as well as fall fun for the whole family and more. Here are some options:

THEATER GARAGE SALE

Where/when: The Village Players of Hatboro, 401 Jefferson Ave., Hatboro, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Why go: Consider searching for a last-minute Halloween costume in the clothes being sold, or peruse the furniture and old props available. Proceeds will benefit the purchase of a new air-conditioning unit for the theater.

Cost: Free to attend, cost depends on how many items of interest you can find.

CRAFTS IN THE BARN

Where/when: 4130 Thistlewood Road, Hatboro, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Why go: More than 75 crafters come together to provide the best selection of thoughtful, handcrafted gifts for everyone on your holiday list.  

Cost: Free admission

FALL FAMILY FUN FESTIVAL

Where/when: Holy Redeemer Thrift Store, 473 E. County Line Road, Hatboro, Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why go: The event features storewide sales, health screenings, kids’ activities, live music, and refreshments. A live auction will also take place, highlighting some of the store’s finest antiques and collectibles.

Cost: Free to go, more to buy items

ARTSOBERFEST

Where/when: Calvary Presbyterian Church, 405 Easton Road, Willow Grove, Saturday from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

Why go: Local artists, performers, writers, and musicians will be performing and displaying their work. Food, drinks, and door prizes will also be available and the event benefits the Abington Arts Center.

Cost: Free, donations accepted

COLONIAL STORYTELLING

Where/when: Moland House, 1641 Old York Road, Hartsville, Sunday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Why go: Enjoy stories being told of locally important figures in colonial American history.

Cost: Free

HALLOWEEN IN HATBORO, HORSHAM
