Peacocks Wander Through Lower Southampton Neighborhood

Have you seen peacocks?

It's not everyday that you see a peacock wandering around Bucks County.

But Lower Southampton resident Lisa Colosimo told Patch on Sunday that she and her neighbors have seen peacocks wandering around The Ridings neighborhood twice.

The Ridings is on the border of Lower Southampton and Northampton on the other side of Bridgetown Pike.

Have you ever seen peacocks wandering in Lower Southampton?

I don't see why people think they have the right to trap and remove these animals. If they are on your property, they're there because you have something they want - probably food. Remove the food, or make it unreachable, or even squirt them with a hose to scare them off and make them not want to be there. I like them. I don't want to see them go. It's their Earth too.

Jim, thank you!!!!! People can be so overly dramatic. They are beautiful. No one tries to remove you (not Jim) because of your loud mouth or ugly personality, or tries to remove your misbehaved deliquent children who intentionally scratch cars, or break windows with their balls. In this horrible world we live in, it is nice to have something beautiful to look at. They have never scratched my car, they just roam about. Jim your right, it is their earth too. Oh And to trish, Frank did not eat them, never would. That is a very cruel thing to say. You must have gone to an all girl catholic catty highschool where you believe EVERYTHING you hear and start rumors. For that you should be ashamed of yourself..... On that note, PEOPLE lighten up and embrace the beautiful peacocks. And get a life. Unless bird watching is your thing and you have something nice to say!

R97 we'll talk when you have property damage or are awake all night because of the noise!

and Trish, it's not just one owner.... There is a family off Bridgetown Pike that owns over a dozen that wander around. I hear the peacocks all the time, they just don't bother me.

Yesterday around 9 am my mother bumped into a solitary peacock strolling proudly at the intersection of sycamore and butternut dr. in Upper Southampton. I too hope I bump into one!
