Manja Pizzeria Sustains Little Storm Damage

The Hatboro pizza shop is expected to reopen on Wednesday.

Like the rest of Pennsylvania, Manja Pizzeria in Hatboro, seems to have dodged a bullet in terms of Hurricane Sandy damage.

"Everything is Ok, no flooding," Anastasia Sampaio told Patch Tuesday morning. "Only a broken window on the side of the building. Looks like a large branch or something hit it."

The 332 S. York Road eatery will remain closed Tuesday so owners can get everything back in place and turn the gas back on, she said. Manja will open Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., Sampaio said.

Last year, the site - which sits adjacent to Pennypack Creek - sustained substantial damage. Then housed by Quig's Pizza, the building had several feet of water inside following Hurricane Irene and Tropical Storm Lee. Prior to Manja opening this spring, the landlord gutted and rebuilt the building's interior.

Whew. What a relief. First thing I thought of this morning in the wake of the storm was "Will Manja's Pizzeria be opened". Thanks for giving this front page status and staying on top of this Patch.

The tubbies who work down the road are praising Jebus today. Thank you, Jebus, for this extra large pizza I am about the inhale.

I just spoke with customer service at SEPTA regarding this issue. They can be reached through theirRead More website, through the phone, and through a postal address for customer suggestions and complaints. At the present time Hatboro's station is not slated for specific improvements. The overall plan, however, is to eventually upgrade all of SEPTA's stations to handicap accessible.

if u ride septa with any regularity you should know, not all stops are handicapped accessible. Don'tRead More hold your breath waiting for SEPTA to change that or you can most definitely expect yet another rate increase.....
