  • Below the banner photo on the homepage are two columns: a wide "News & Blogs" column and a narrower "Boards" column. Click inside the text box that reads "Make an announcement, speak your mind, or sell something".

  • Type in a Title—essentially a headline for your post, something like “Black Cat Missing in (Neighborhood) on (Date)”. Then describe your pet, the circumstances of its disappearance and as much identifying information as could be useful.

  • Click the "Add photos/videos" button to upload a picture of your pet.

  • In the "Pick a Board" drop-down menu, choose "Announcements".

  • Click "Post Now" to finish.

  • Anyone with a Patch blog can use the blog section to announce missing pets, too. To start a blog, scroll past the top news stories on the homepage and click the green "+ Start blogging" button.
