Car Show Adds More Room for Vroom

Hatboro's Moonlight Memories Car Show, set for July 27, has expanded to encompass most of the borough.

When hundreds of old-fashioned rides, muscle cars and specialty trucks roll into Hatboro, drivers will have even more room to park, spiff up and show them off.

The 21st annual Moonlight Memories Car Show, which will be held on July 27, has received the green light to span Lehman Avenue to Summit Avenue.

Event Co-Chairman Joe Baskwill said he hopes the show's expansion from its previous stopping point at Byberry Road will make way for even greater participation.

"We anticipate more cars this year," Baskwill said.

Last year, 400 cars and trucks were on display. The car show draws upwards of 75,000 to 100,000 spectators, according to the Greater Hatboro Chamber of Commerce, the group that presents the show.

Baskwill said requests from York Road businesses, including Aaron's and O'Neil's Collision Center, prompted the show's expansion.

"There’s several new businesses that moved into Main Street Hatboro and they’re part of the reason why we’re doing it," Baskwill said. "The businesses are going to be able to benefit."
