Buy Books, Check Out Art, Dance All Night

There's plenty of things to do in Hatboro, Horsham and surrounding communities this weekend.

Cold weather got you itching to get outside (or at least outside of your home)? This weekend offers something for everyone, from book sales, to art shows, a fancy gala and more. Here are some options:

BOOK SALE

Where/when: Horsham Township Library, 435 Babylon Road, Horsham, Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Why go: More than 6,000 materials will be available for sale, including books, CDs, DVDs and audiobooks. Proceeds benefit library programs.

Cost: Depends on what you buy. Prices range from 25 cents to $1.

‘ARGO’ SHOWING

Where/when: Calvery Presbyterian Church, 405 Easton Road, Willow Grove, Friday from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Why go: Enjoy free refreshments and popcorn and hot dogs while watching “Argo,” starring Ben Affleck and John Goodman.

Cost: Free

STORYTIME WITH CHILDREN’S AUTHOR

Where/when: Maine Star Coffee, 237 Jacksonville Road, Hatboro, Sunday from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. 

Why go: Children's author Stephanie Farley will read her book, “God Made You Beautiful” and do a book signing. Proceeds from the book sales will benefit "Just Love: Adoption, Foster, Orphan Care."

Cost: Free to attend, fee for the book. 

JURIED ART SHOW 

Where/when: Arcadia University, 450 S. Easton Road, Glenside beginning Friday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Why go: Check out the artwork of 28 student artists from high schools in Bucks and Montgomery counties.

Cost: Free

BOROUGH BALL

Where/when: Spring Mill Country Club, 80 Jacksonville Road, Hatboro, Saturday from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Why go: The Greater Hatboro Chamber of Commerce’s biennial gala recognizes people in town who are making a difference.

Cost: $65
