Hatboro dentist to offer free cleanings for those in need

Dr. Kenneth Pakman is doing his part to ensure the Hatboro community keeps up on dental hygiene – even if they could not otherwise afford to do so.

On Feb. 18 fro 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Pakman will offer free cleanings, x-rays and dental exams to people unable to pay for the care. In all, Pakman said he expects to do up to 20 cleanings that day.

“We’re almost booked,” he said, noting that would-be patients should schedule an appointment.

No stranger to community service, Pakman’s office, Creating Beautiful Smiles, 444 N. York Road in Hatboro, led a food drive for the holidays that benefitted Manna Food Center. Before that, he collected Halloween candy and sent it to troops serving overseas.

“After you’ve been in practice for a while you have to do things to help the community,” he said.

A Richboro resident, Pakman has practiced in Hatboro since 1978. And, like his long-time dental profession, Pakman said his free cleanings will be a mainstay -first and foremost to help the community in tough financial times.

“The economy’s been so bad,” Pakman said. “People are out of work. A lot of people have lost their insurance.”
