Keith Valley Hosts 10th Annual 5K and Fun Walk for Charity April 5

It’s time to dust off those running shoes for the KV Fun Run and Walk April 5! Registration for the 10th Annual 5K Fun Run and 1 mile Walk will begin at Keith Valley Middle School at 8 a.m. for district and community participants. This year’s run will benefit the ALS Association of Greater Philadelphia and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

“We want to get everyone out and moving for a big kick-off to spring,” KV Health and Physical Education teacher and event organizer Ashley Kelly said. “It’s a great way to enjoy a healthy morning with people in the community.”

The race will begin at 9 a.m. starting at the middle school. The 5K and walk courses will wind through the neighborhood behind Keith Valley, ending back at the school where snacks and drinks will be available. Additionally, runners who come in first, second or third place in the categories of district staff, students and community members will receive ribbons for their respective groups.

While the rolling hills of the 5K course will offer a slight challenge to runners, while the walk will provide a nice morning stroll on a mostly flat course. The cost is $10 per adult, with an immediate family discount of $25 after the first adult has registered. All funds raised through the 5K and walk will go to the designated organizations.

“Hopefully, we’ll have great spring weather and it will be a wonderful way to start a healthy spring,” Kelly said.
