Greater Horsham Chamber of Commerce 'Masters Monday'Golf Tourney April 14

There are still some openings in the Greater Horsham Chamber of Commerce’s Masters Monday Green Jacket Golf Tournament April 14 at Commonwealth National Golf Club in Horsham, but the slots are going fast, event organizers said.

The sixth annual event continues to grow in popularity, said GHCC President Jo-Anne Zapata, and each year golfers are registering earlier. By early February, registration was three-quarters complete, she said. Cost of the golf outing is $135 and includes a box lunch, cart, snacks and beverages, a buffet of hearty hors d’oeuvres at the end of play and a one-hour open bar. A cash bar will be available after that.

The event, which also includes a large array of raffle baskets and prizes – including a trophy and green jackets for the winning foursome - begins with registration at 10:30 a.m., followed by lunch at 11 a.m., then a “shot gun” start at noon for the 18-hole scramble-style tournament. Golfers may register individually or as foursomes.

There will be plenty of time for networking throughout the event. Non-golfers can join their participating friends and family for cocktails from the cash bar and the hors d’oeuvres buffet from 5 to 7 p.m. The cost is $35 for non-golfers.

The buffet will include crab cakes, scallops wrapped in bacon, coconut shrimp, chicken fingers, pigs in a blanket, mini cheese steaks, waffle fries and a cheese & crudité display.

Proceeds from a putting contest will benefit the organizations involved in the chamber’s Nonprofit Roundtable. The winner will take home a flat screen T.V. Prizes also will be awarded in “longest drive,” and two “closest to the pin” contests.

“Premiere” tournament sponsor is Commonwealth Corporate Park. “Masters” sponsor is Hatboro Federal Savings, “Green Jacket” sponsor is Jubilant Cadista Pharmaceuticals Inc., and the NPR Putting Contest sponsor is Days Inn Horsham-Philadelphia. Sponsorship opportunities still are available and include: Friends of the Tournament, $750; Longest Drive, $500; Beverage Cart, $500; Golf Cart, two at $250 each; Closest to the Pin on #5, $250; Closest to the Pin on #12, $250; and Caddy Shack Path Signs, $125.

Golfers may register and pay online at www.horshamchamberofcommerce.com or by sending an e-mail with name and e-mail address to Chamber President Jo-Anne Zapata at joannezapata@gmail.com, then sending a check, made out to the Greater Horsham Chamber of Commerce, to P.O. Box 1926, Horsham, Pa., 19044. Tournament sponsorships may be submitted online as well.
