Good Grief to start a Young Adult (18-30) Group this Fall

The National Alliance for Grieving Children estimates that 1 out of 7 children will lose a parent or sibling before the age of 20.   That means that 20,000 kids in New Jersey are affected by this loss each year.

Good Grief’s mission is to normalize grief in our communities through education, advocacy, and year-round programs for grieving children, teens, and families coping with loss due to the death of a parent or sibling.  Our programs are free of charge and families are able to receive our support for as long as they need it.

Good Grief opened its first satellite in Princeton on February 20, 2013, offering free support to children throughout Central New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania.  Since opening, we’re already serving over 25 families, and we need to continue expanding in order to help more children, as the need is tremendous.

"My head is lifted a little bit higher.  It's a little more clearer.  My heart, a little more healed.  These individuals holding my hands are not strangers at all...they are my friends & I need them.  I DO belong here.  They say no one knows how you feel unless they've walked in your shoes.  Now I know, someone has..." - Brigitte T., participant
