Area Hair Cuttery Salons to Host Cut-A-Thon for Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund
Philadelphia, Delaware and South Jersey area residents can help Hurricane Sandy victims and relief efforts while getting a $10 haircut during the Cut-A-Thon at select Hair Cuttery salons on Sunday, Oct. 27 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
During the two-hour Cut-A-Thon, all haircut proceeds will go directly to the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund to help support the recovery efforts of communities impacted by the storm. Salons will also offer $5 haircuts to first responders, including all Fire, Police and Emergency Medical Personnel. Stylists participating in the Cut-A-Thon are donating their time on a volunteer basis, and Hair Cuttery will also match a portion of sales to be donated to the cause.
“As a company, we wanted to support the ongoing Sandy relief efforts in our own way by donating all Cut-A-Thon profits, and we’re extremely proud of our passionate stylists who are volunteering their time to help make all of this happen,” said Hair Cuttery co-founder and CEO Dennis Ratner. “We truly hope the entire community will get involved.”

During the Cut-A-Thon, salons will also be collecting gently used coats, jackets, hats, scarves and mittens for Krausey’s Koats, a Philadelphia based organization that is gathering cold-weather gear for those affected by Hurricane Sandy.
