Make Caramel Apples, Meet the HSA

See what's happening on Wednesday in Hatboro and Horsham.

Simply Twisted Frozen Yogurt, 587 Horsham Road in Horsham, will host a caramel apple workshop on Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Participants can make their own handmade caramel apples and decorate them with many of the store's toppings, including chopped peanuts, jimmies, mini M&Ms, Heath bar, broken pretzels and more. Cost is $8 and includes apples and all the extras.

Graeme Park, 859 County Line Road in Horsham is hosting a day for homeschoolers and their families on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 
Guests can learn the history of the early residents of the estate as well as partake in a variety of hands-on Colonial-era activities and see period demonstrations. Cost is $6 per person and a responsible adult must accompany and stay with children.

The Crooked Billet Elementary School home and school association will host a meet and greet Wednesday at 8 p.m. at the school, 101 Meadowbrook Ave., in Hatboro.

Back-to-school night will be held for Simmons Elementary School third- through fifth-graders Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the school, 411 Babylon Road in Horsham.

State Rep. Tom Murt (R-152) of Upper Moreland, will host a constituent service day along with staff members from U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey's office on Wednesday. The event will be held at Murt's district office, 19 S. York Road in Hatboro, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Click here for more information.

The Horsham Land Redevelopment Authority–the entity tasked with overseeing the reuse of 862 acres of Willow Grove air base–will meet on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at the municipal building, 1025 Horsham Road in Horsham. Chik-fil-A, 160 Easton Road in Warrington, is donating 10 percent of its sales on Wednesday (from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.) to four organizations. Customers will have the choice of 10 percent of their total bill going to either The Alzheimer's Association; Conquer Chiari; Crohn and Colitis Foundation of America; or Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer three-day walk. 

During the donation period Wednesday evening, Chik-fil-A customers simply place their receipts in their chosen organization's box. The organization with the highest sales receipts will receive an additional 10 percent.
