Community Food Drive, War Stories, Golf Benefit

See what's happening on Wednesday in Hatboro and Horsham.

A community food drive is underway and will continue through Oct. 31 with the goal of collecting 1,000 pounds of non-perishable food items to benefit the Lehman Methodist Church and St. John's Lutheran Church food pantries in Hatboro. Collection sites include the Greater Hatboro Chamber of Commerce Office, 120 S. York Road; Hatboro Federal Savings, 221 S. York Road; KP Kitchen Crafts, 222 S. York Road; and Hatboro Dish, 102 S. York Road.

The Lonely Pen Cap will perform Wednesday at Impact Thrift Store, 14 E. Moreland Ave., from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

On Wednesday from 4 p.m. until close, you can buy a meal at Taqueria del Sol, 4001 Welsh Road in Willow Grove and 20 percent of the cost will benefit the Hatboro-Horsham High School golf team. Click here for more details. 

The Union Library of Hatboro, 243 S. York Road, will resume its weekly War Stories speaker series on Wednesday at 7 p.m. Speaker Peter Rossetti of Upper Southampton, will share some of his military experiences during World War II.

Hatboro business owners will compete in a window-decorating contest this week. The public is invited to enjoy the colorful fall and Halloween window displays as part of Hatoberfest.

Hallowell Elementary School is hosting "Walk This Way" spirit day on Wednesday.
