Op-Ed: Elm Street Hatboro Grateful for Business Support

The owner of the newly relocated Sullivan's Scrap Metals will join the board of Elm Street Hatboro in February.

Elm Street Hatboro welcomes Sullivan's Scrap Metals. Mike Whalen, owner- operator of the company, will be accepted as a member of the Elm Street Board at its February meeting. Whalen recently relocated his business from Meadowbrook Avenue to Oakdale Avenue. He has erected a large 7,500-sqare-foot canopy, installed all new sidewalks and new fencing along his property.

He employs 15 workers at his two locations - in Hatboro and Philadelphia. Sullivan's Scrap Metals concentrates on steel, stainless steel, copper, aluminum, brass and all other alloys and electronics.

In addition to providing his business experience and future plans, he has contributed  $1,700 to offset the Elm Street insurance premiums providing liability safety to all the board members. We are thankful for his support and look forward to his ideas to revitalize the Elm Street area.

The Vote is in February? He's already voted in? Seems to undermind the voting process.
