Man Accused of Home Invasion Robbery has Bail Revoked
Ayodele Oke, who is facing charges related to the armed robbery of a former Hatboro-Horsham classmate, was sent to Montgomery County Correctional Facility after allegedly sending threatening text messages.
The Hatboro man awaiting trial on charges that he brandished a gun and threatened to kill his former classmate during a home robbery in Horsham last April, saw his $50,000 bail revoked Tuesday.
Ayodele Gabriel Oke, 22, of Hatboro, was arrested last month for allegedly sending 50 threatening text messages to a man who owed him money, according to an article in the Times Herald. That arrest prompted the judge to revoke Oke's bail and send him back to prison.
The judge also ordered that Oke -who, in November called the judge "insane" and accused him of "domestic terrorism" - undergo an additional psychiatric evaluation and, if necessary, treatment under the Mental Health Procedures Act. The results of the evaluation are to be delivered to the judge within 60 days, according to the court order.
With regard to the alleged home invasion robbery of a Chestnut Lane residence in Horsham, Oke faces various charges, including robbery, illegal possession of a handgun, burglary and recklessly endangering another person.
According to the criminal complaint filed last year by Horsham Township Police, Oke is alleged to have entered the unlocked back door, put a gun to the back of a victim’s head and demand money. According to the complaint, the suspect called the victim by his first name and said, “give me the money.”
When the victim said he didn’t have any money, Oke allegedly choked him.
Oke then allegedly said, “I’m about to start lettin off shots,” according to the criminal complaint.
The victim said he had money downstairs. As the victim - who was later unable to positively identify his attacker - allegedly led Oke down the steps, the victim opened the front door and ran to his neighbor’s house, according to the complaint.
