Hatboro Police Seek Two Suspects in Home Invasion
Police say alleged robbers pistol-whipped homeowner
Hatboro Police are seeking two black males in connection with an early morning armed robbery in the 100 block of East Moreland Avenue.
Police said the suspects produced a handgun and fired several shots during the altercation with the 32-year-old victim, who was home alone during the invasion. Police said the alleged robbers confronted the victim on the second floor and demanded money and other goods. The victim struggled with the two assailants and during the struggle one of the men produced a handgun and fired several shots. No one was hit by the gunfire.
The alleged burglars were said to have then pistol-whipped the victim with the handgun, as well as a crowbar.
The victim, who police did not name, was transported to Abington Memorial Hospital following the 2:24 a.m. robbery and is listed in stable condition.
Police said they believe the suspects specifically targeted the victim and that the incident was isolated.
The first suspect was described as follows: A black male, in his mid-20s, 5’10” tall, wearing a black hooded sweatshirt or jacket with the hood up and a face mask with white coloring on the front. This subject was armed with a black handgun.
The second suspect was described as follows: A black male, early to mid 20s, wearing a dark-colored knit ski-mask with eye and mouth holes, possibly wearing a hooded sweatshirt. This subject was armed with a crow bar that was recovered at the scene.
Police said the suspects fled the house and made off with a small to medium sized fire safe. One subject is believed to have fled the area on foot south on South New Street, while the other subject fled in an unknown type of vehicle.
A canine unit from Upper Moreland and officers from Horsham Police Department assisted Hatboro Police on the scene.
