H-H Choir Semi-Finalists in B-101 Contest

Hatboro-Horsham High School's Madrigals are competing in B-101's holiday music contest and need your votes to win.

B-101 radio listeners will have the chance to play judge on Wednesday as Hatboro-Horsham High School's Madrigal Singers face off in the station's Christmas Choir Competition.

The Hatters' Madrigals, a group of 22 students who sing a cappella literature from the 16th to 20th centuries, will have its performance of "Carol of the Bells" air at 7 a.m. on Dec. 12.

The Hatboro-Horsham group are semi-finalists in B-101's annual contest and will croon for the chance to win prizes aimed at enhancing the school’s music program. The locals will compete against the Arts Academy at Benjamin Rush and Council Rock High School North.

Hatboro-Horsham could win several prizes for the group and the Hatboro-Horsham High School music department, including a new piano and the opportunity to perform with Peter Nero and the Philly Pops.

Hatboro-Horsham High School Choir Director Bill Naydan said being named semi-finalists in the contest is a great testament to the hard work and dedication put forth by the singers.

“We are just asking for the Hatboro-Horsham community’s support to help these talented students advance in the competition,” Naydan said.

Last year, Keith Valley Middle School's seventh- and eighth-grade choir advanced to the finals in the B-101 contest.

Voting starts at 7:15 a.m. and concludes at 9 p.m. Wednesday. The radio station will announce the winners from Wednesday’s competition at 7 a.m. Thursday. To vote for the Hatboro-Horsham Madrigals and learn more about the contest, visit B-101’s Web site by clicking here.

I'm sorry I can't actually find where to vote for HHHS. Does anyone have a more specific link I could follow?

Good luck Madrigals!! I recently saw the movie Pitch Perfect about a capella singers and I totally enjoyed it. But of course "that's the movies."

Thanks to patch for putting this on your website. The students in Madrigals are so talented and work so very hard and Mr. Naydan is such a good mentor and teacher. Spread the word people!! What a wonderful way for others to learn about our music programs at Hatboro-Horsham district schools.

Remember to vote for H-H Madrigals today in the B101 choir concert (http://choir.b101radio.com/vote). You can vote as many times as you want up until 9 p.m. (just refresh the page), and remember that Facebook "likes" aren't votes. Want to hear the Madrigals and H-H's other fine musical groups in person? Concert tonight, 12-12-12, at the high school at 7 p.m., with caroling in the lobby by the Mads before the concert starts. H-H has awesome music teachers at all levels ... thanks in advance for voting and your support!
