Driver Killed in Horsham Crash
A man died as a result of injuries sustained in a vehicle crash Sunday evening in Horsham.
A vehicle collision which closed Horsham Road Sunday evening in the area of Lancers Diner has claimed the life of a man, according to Horsham Township Police.
Citing notification of family, police are not yet releasing the identity of the 41-year-old Danboro man, who had been driving a 1998 Dodge Neon at the time of the 7:37 p.m. crash which occurred in the 800 block of Easton Road Sunday night.
Police said a preliminary investigation revealed that the Dodge Neon had been traveling north on Easton Road and, for an unknown reason, crossed into the southbound lanes of Easton Road. The car then made contact with a southbound tractor trailer operated by a Paul Colie, Sr. of Dover, police said.
The operator of the Dodge Neon was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Members of the Horsham Ambulance and the Horsham Fire Company assisted police at the scene.
The investigation into the crash continues. Witnesses are asked to contact Detective Adam Dunning of the Horsham Township Police Department at 215-643-8284.

Another life taken on 611. What a shame. What's going on with all these recent fatalities in the same area? I guess a sidewalk along 611 isn't the best idea.

BTW ... Lancers Diner is on 611, not Horsham Road.

I live at the Maple Hill Apt on Maple Ave (across from Lancers) and heard the accident but didn't know what it was at the time. It sounded like a bomb in the distance...then the emergency sirens. Quite sad. I grew up in this area then went away for 15yrs or so. Recently I came back...what a mess. It's way too congested and many roads can't handle the traffic. Needless to say this won't be my permanent stay.

There have been a lot of accidents lately, on Easton Rd. as well as County line Rd. by the ROsemore shopping Center...

Really, though- if the driver 'crossed into the Southbound lanes for unknown reasons', you can't really blame the safety or lack of, of the road itself. Maybe he decided to make a left or a U-turn or just lost control. Tractor-trailers can't stop on a dime, even if they are only going 35 mph (the speed limit is 45 on that road). Either way, sadly, the driver was likely at fault, not the conditions of Rt 611.

Hate to say it but it sounds like he was intoxicated/blacked out...it's that time of year. There's no reason to cross lanes and go head on into a 18 wheeler unless car failure which is uncommon. Again, just my opinion.
