Child Injured After Being Struck By Car
The youth was flown to the hospital following the afternoon crash.
A 6-year-old child sustained serious injuries after being hit by a car in the 1100 block of Horsham Road Tuesday, shortly after school let out.
Horsham Police responded to the pedestrian crash at 3:39 p.m. A medical helicopter landing zone was set up near the crash site shortly after and the victim was flown to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
Police said a preliminary investigation revealed that a 2011 Toyota Rav-4 was traveling west on Horsham Road and struck the child in the roadway. The operator immediately stopped at the scene and is cooperating with police.
Any witnesses to this crash are asked to contact Detective Adam Dunning of the Horsham Township Police Department at 215-643-8284.

I was driving east on Horsham Road around 4:30 and saw the shoes laying in the street. I was horrified and prayed that no one was killed. Prayers for the family.

ColeyReich,
Nothing new on my end. Does anyone in the community know the family, or have any info on how the child is doing?

Drivers need to slow down, and pay attention! Not only on the highway but also in parking lots. You take your life in your hands, trying to get to the store. It seems the biggest offenders are moms with kids. They should know better.

It's sad that comments to a story about a child being hit by a car devolve into attacks against the posters. Let's keep our comments to the pertinent part of the story. Let's all slow down, pay more attention and hope this little guy gets better. Let's also hope that the mother and the driver both learn from the accident. Keep your kids close and pay attention when driving...no matter when or where.
