Arcadia Polls Hatboro Community on Course Interests

As part of its talks with the Greater Hatboro Chamber of Commerce to offer courses in the borough, Arcadia University's School of Continuing Studies is seeking input from a survey.

Would you be interested in enrolling in degree programs and/or taking courses for college credit in the Hatboro community?

The answer to this and 13 other questions is being sought by Arcadia University's School of Continuing Studies as the King of Prussia-based  through an affiliation with the . 

"We have just released an online survey as part of our needs assessment phase for residents and business members in Hatboro and are encouraging participation within the community," Arcadia University Spokesman Edward Neenan wrote in an e-mail to Patch.

Arcadia University’s Dean of Continuing Studies, Erik Nelson, said last month that it was the school’s intention to launch offerings in Hatboro this fall “with the goal of releasing and offering additional programs in the months ahead.”

That announcement followed a in June between Arcadia officials and 45 individuals representing Hatboro’s businesses, residents and charities, to determine how a continuing education program that would be tailored to the needs of Chamber members could be established in Hatboro.

Neenan told Patch that "fall is still the plan" for the beginning of its offerings in Hatboro.

"If there is any delay -- which at this point there does not appear to be -- courses would be offered in 'Fall 2,' which is traditionally a mid-October start," Neenan said.
