A fifth suspect, , formerly of Hatboro and presently incarcerated in the state of New Jersey, is also facing charges related to the robbery. The warrant has been filed as a detainer and Johnson will be returned to Montgomery County to face these charges upon completion of his sentence in New Jersey, police said.

Police said the lengthy investigation revealed that Robert Johnson, Utsey, Schussler, Wroblewski and Huett Johnson conspired to commit the robbery earlier the same date. The suspects allegedly drove to the scene in a vehicle being operated by Schussler. Upon arrival, Huett Johnson, Utsey and Wroblewski were said to have surreptitiously entered the residence via the rear door.

Once inside the residence, Kendall Johnson, who police said was armed with a large crow bar and Utsey, who was armed with a semi-automatic handgun, allegedly confronted the victim while he slept in his second floor bedroom. Police said the two demanded money and prescription medications. The victim refused and was severely beaten with the crow bar. During the incident, Utsey allegedly threatened the victim with the handgun, firing several shots inside the room.

The victim attempted to escape the residence, but police said the suspects pushed him down the stairs by the actors. Prior to exiting the residence, police said the victim was beaten repeatedly with the crow bar and pistol whipped with the handgun. He was ultimately able to escape to a neighbor’s home and the police were called. The suspects left the residence with a small fire safe, according to law enforcement. Upon allegedly breaking into the safe, the suspects learned that it contained nothing of value.

Robert Johnson, Schussler, Utsey and Wroblewski were arrested and arraigned this week before Magisterial District Judge Paul Leo. Bail was set at $50,000 cash for Utsey and he was remanded to Bucks County Prison in lieu of bail, where he is being held for unrelated charges. Bail was set at $250,000 for Robert Johnson, Wroblewski and Schussler. Johnson and Schussler were remanded to Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of bail.

During the initial investigation, police did find an amount of marijuana in the victim’s home. As a result, the victim, Scott Hopper, 33 of Hatboro, was arrested on July 19 and charged with possession of marijuana.
